My name is José Coll and I started designing at the social media marketing agency, MXM. Here is where I learned how to photoshop and I worked predominately in entertainment. At the educational non-profit, ASCD, I honed my skills in creating compelling visual solutions that align with strategic and creative directions. My role required developing multiple design concepts, communicating ideas effectively to creative and art directors, and revising work based on detailed feedback. I thrived in these collaborative environments, contributing to team brainstorming sessions and working to find creative solutions. This experience has equipped me with the ability to manage the entire design process—from creative conception to production—ensuring high-quality outcomes that adhere to brand guidelines.
This skill set has greatly benefited and informed my current position as art director at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I showcase my deep appreciation for typography by helping create and implement a highly customized logo system that resonates with our brand identity but can also be meaningfully utilized by creative partners across fifty chapters nationwide. My expertise in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator allows me to produce clean, print-ready files efficiently, and my familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes ensures that my designs are creative, practical, and sharable with team members and vendors. This is especially important when working across various regions and maintaining consistent brand standards.
I am dedicated to staying up-to-date with current design trends and continually sharing my skills through collaboration with peers and management. It is imperative that we stay connected with our audience in meaningful ways to retain engagement through appropriate research and exploring visual storytelling solutions informed by constant monitoring of industry trends.
